Homemade Pizza Dough

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (you can also use pizza flour here)

3/4 teaspoon active dry yeast

1 teaspoon fine sea salt

2 tablespoon olive oil

1/2 cup room temperature water

extra fine corn meal, optional

Place all of the dry ingredients (salt, flour, active dry yeast) into a large bowl first and then place 1 tablespoon of olive oil and the water. Mix together. Don’t worry if it is clumpy. Grab all of the dough, including the little clumps and bits of flour, and place on a lightly floured surface. Start gently needing the dough together until it all comes together smoothly- about two minutes. Next, use the same bowl and place about 1 tablespoon of olive oil in it. Rub the ball of dough with the oil so it is fully coated and leave it in the bowl covered with a damp, clean towel (or plastic wrap) for about two hours at room temperature. The dough should be doubled in size. Once the time has passed, place dough on floured surface and knead out all of the air bubbles. Place the ball of dough back into the oiled bowl for another 15-20 minutes to sit. After this time has passed, the dough is ready! Roll out the dough or use your hands and arms (like a master chef!) to shape the dough however you would like. You can place the dough directly onto a baking sheet or even place extra fine cornmeal on the baking sheet first.

Preheat oven to the highest temperature. Top your pizza with ingredients that you prefer or make this 3 Cheese Blistered Tomato and Mushroom Pizza. Bake for ten minutes and voila! Enjoy your creative and yummy pizza!
